At its core, the 1005 functions as a comprehensive ring modulator capable of generating metallic, bell-like tones alongside a wide range of modulation effects. The module processes signals from VCOs or LFOs through its IN A and IN B inputs, with dedicated attenuators for precise control. Key features include an UNMOD gain control for setting levels in unmodulated mode, plus a versatile VCA offering both exponential and linear response curves with independent gain control.

The module’s connectivity options are extensive, featuring CVA and CVB inputs for remote VCO frequency control, plus CV IN for external VCA level management. The illuminated UNMOD and MOD switches provide clear visual feedback whilst offering remote control via dedicated GATE, MOD and UNMOD jacks. Additional conveniences include ratio and tune controls for balancing external VCO frequencies, with the VCA OUT jack delivering either modulated or unmodulated signals – allowing independent VCA operation when modulation is disabled.
