At the heart of this mixer are 28 boutique-quality Onyx mic preamps offering an ultra-wide 60dB gain range and impressive 128.5 dB dynamic range. The unit handles +22 dBu line inputs with extended frequency response and maintains distortion under 0.0007% across 20Hz – 50kHz. Enhanced RF rejection makes it particularly suitable for broadcast applications, while phantom power supports condenser microphones. Channels 25-28 feature dedicated inline compression for critical inputs, and all 28 high-headroom line inputs include dedicated inserts.

The VLZ4's comprehensive feature set includes 4 subgroups with dedicated inline compressors, 6 aux sends with inserts and pre/post fader options, plus dual 32-bit RMFX+™ processors loaded with 24 “Gig Ready” reverbs, choruses and tap delays. The integrated 4×2 24-bit USB interface allows streaming of subgroups or master L/R to PC or Mac for recording, while auxes 5/6 enable live use of your favourite plug-ins. Additional professional touches include PFL/AFL solo modes, 60mm long-wearing log-taper faders, high-resolution 12-segment stereo meters, and sealed rotary controls that resist dust and grime, all housed in a rugged steel chassis with powder-coat finish.
